The Following Household Hazardous Materials will be Accepted and Properly Disposed or Recycled: Oil-based Paint, Solvents, Tires (Limit 5 per vehicle, one delivery only), Automotive Batteries, Used Oil, Antifreeze, Household Cleaning Products, Aerosol Cans, Acids/Bases, Fluorescent Tubes, Tars, Resins, Adhesives, Pesticides, Herbicides, Scrap Metal, Major Appliances and Used Electronics, such as Used Computers, Copiers, Printers, Radios, TVs and other Electronic Devices. Please DO NOT Bring the Following Items — We CANNOT Accept Them: Explosives, Ammunition, Unidentifiable Materials, Infectious Waste (medical), Compressed Gas Cylinders (including propane tanks), Asbestos, Radioactive Wastes (smoke alarms), High School Lab Wastes and Commercial/Governmental Facility Waste, even if the facility is at home. Limit 5 tires per vehicle. Please DO NOT Bring the Following Non-hazardous Items: (Support existing recycling programs instead) Latex Paint, Paper, Cardboard, Aluminum Cans, Plastic and Glass. Please, NO CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS (municipal waste). (NOTE: No longer accepting latex paint, only oil-based paints.) This event is designed for collection and disposal of residential hazardous wastes. Please do not bring wastes from commercial or governmental facilities. NOTE: In 2023, we WILL accept Used Electronics, such as Used Computers, Copiers, Printers, Radios, TVs and other Electronic Devices. We will not accept Latex Paint. Please also consider using convenient recycling options. |
September, 2022 Thanks to the residents of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. James Parishes for your patience. Due to the COVID-19 and subsequent variant outbreaks, the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Household Hazardous Materials Collection Days were cancelled. We now have a date for 2023. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend on Saturday, April 22nd. (This date coincides with Earth Day, Keep Louisiana Beautiful Week, St. Charles Trash Bash and St. John the Baptist Parish Clean Sweep! More details are forthcoming. Thank you for your patience. |
